Yoga
Yoga translates as 'union'. Ultimately, union with the Divine. When you experience everything in your consciousness as one, then you are in yoga. There are many traditions and schools of yoga, all aimed at offering various practices to maintain and create well-being, leading to an inner peace and connection with Divine Spirit.
Through breath awareness, body postures, cleansing, visualisation and meditation techniques, yoga offers strength, balance and peace to Body, Mind & Spirit. It is a system that reaches way beyond a guided yoga class, extending its healing benefits into all aspects of our lives.
In a similar way, Aromatherapy improves our wellbeing providing balance for Mind, Body & Spirit through the use of essential oils, powerful healing essences extracted from the plant world. (See Aromatherapy section for more information.)
The ancient yogis practised a form of Ayurvedic self massage known as Abhyanga, using therapeutic oils from the plant world to maintain an optimum state of health. This daily morning ritual would aid the yogi by improving circulation, calm the nerves, tone the muscles, lubricate the joints, eliminate impurities, relieve fatigue, nourish the skin, enhance complexion and lustre to skin and promote longevity … just to name a few of the benefits!
As lovers of Yoga and Aromatherapy here at Byron Essence, we have discovered the beauty of their merging. The use of be Body & Soul oils have been seen to increase the depth of yogic practise and provide a wonderful tool to enhance yoga, on and off the mat.
It should be noted that no product/service or anything outside of us can bring us peace, joy, love or whatever we desire. However, they can act as a tool or anchor to help us find it within ourselves. So if it's peace you're looking for, you must 'be peace'. We believe our products, through the power of Aromatherapy and Nature's divine essences can help you discover your true Divine essence. Om Shanti
Ways to use Byron Essence, Body & Soul oils for Yoga
- After your morning shower, anoint the body with your favourite be oil. Take a moment to set your intention for the day. Is it to experience joy? Offer love? Or rest in inner peace? Take the oil and as you inhale the divine aromas, deepening your breath, make your intention or prayer. Anoint yourself, give yourself a moment to focus and be. The beautiful aroma will light your skin providing healing and a subtle reminder to breathe fully and surrender into your intention.
- You can use this simple practise before a yoga session to add to your experience. The base oil of Macadamia is light and non-greasy so as you begin your practise you will enjoy the aromas, healing benefits, added focus and breath awareness, without any oily residue.
- Byron Essence Body & Soul oils are used for Shivasana or resting pose phase of yoga. Apply to the neck, temples and wrist points, for deep relaxation, stillness and integration. We recommend be peace for this purpose.
- It is also useful to self massage the entire body with be oils after yoga to soothe sore muscles, assist with integration, flexibility and a sense of further self nourishment and body care. Any oil you are drawn to, will work here and you'll experience the healing power of your chosen blend, the nourishment of self massage and the benefits of taking time for yourself.
- Byron Essence oils can be used as a simple evening ritual before bed, creating peace and balance to enable a deep and restful sleep. Use in a similar way to the morning ritual. (See Above.)
