Macadamia oil

Macadamia oil is the non-volatile oil expressed from the nuts of the native Australian Macadamia tree (Macadamia Integrifolia). The natural habitat for Macadamia trees is Northern New South Wales, Australia where it has been a prized delicacy of the local Aboriginal tribe, the Bundjalung people, who gave it the name Gyndl or Jindilli. In 1858 Walter Hill cultivated the first Macadamia Integrifolia, it is still alive and fruiting today in the Brisbane botanical gardens. In the early 1900’s American horticulturists took the tree to Hawaii where it also thrives in the rich volcanic soil.

Macadamia Oil is high in Vitamin E and anti oxidants, this improves the appearance of scars, evens the skin tone, protects against free radicals and prevents stretch marks. It has the skin plumping and anti wrinkle properties covered, including oleic acid, omega 3 and 6 and the component that stands it apart from the rest, high quantities of palmitoleic acid or Omega 7. Omega 7 is very similar to skin sebum and natural skin lipids; therefore it provides excellent results for skin. Research suggests that Omega 7 is involved in the cell rejuvenation and the healing process, particularly in dry and/or mature skin.

Macadamia oil penetrates the skin deeply; it does not sit on top like regular moisturisers.
