Essential Oils

Essential oils are the oldest form of medicine and cosmetic known to man and affect all levels of wellbeing; emotional, physical, mental, spiritual and energetic.

Essential oils are the living element of a plant, extracted, and holding the life force and healing properties of that plant. The oils are extracted from an array of plant sources; flowers, leaves, stems, seeds, barks, woods and resins.

Essential oils are highly potent in their pure form effecting results for body, mind, emotions and spirit. These highly volatile and potent essences are composed of tiny molecules, which are easily dissolved in alcohol, emulsifiers and fats; this allows them to penetrate the skin easily and enter the bloodstream swiftly for powerful results. At the same time they are inhaled and enter the body via the cells lining the nasal passages. This action sends messages to the brain immediately, effecting the emotions via the limbic system, which also controls the major functions of the body.

With this understanding it is easy to see how the oils are one of nature’s great healers working on all levels, enhancing physical and psychological wellbeing at the same time.
